Reducing foodborne illness may require not only preventing contamination through manufacturers improved processing and the inspections process by government agencies, but also through educating all of my audience as consumers to avoid high risk consumption choices, habits and trends. Individually, all of us must recognize and avoid cross contamination anywhere in process when ever we buy and prepare foods. The proper education in turn can establish an understanding if you, your family and friends are at risk; to energize you to locate all necessary factors which will motivate you and them to perform required personal hygiene practices, follow basic food safety principles, rules and recommendations. "From Harvest to Our Dinner Table," (at www.atlasbooks.com)is written for you and me with excellent suggestions and ideas on some of the major health issues of interest. This new book increases awareness by promoting benefits to all consumers about food safety, to have an impact and influence on your and mine cooking and eating behavior. Through such efforts like this, it will be recognized through constant applications by all of you out there; that more more people, particularly Americans will be eating their hamburgers and all other foods that should be thoroughly cooked more than before. I firmly believe that we will all continue to improve upon our food safety practices, the more we become aware of the extent of E. coli contamination in our food supplies.
